Gervonta “Tank” Davis: Ascending to the "Face of Boxing"

Floyd Mayweather may take credit for scouting Gervonta "Tank" Davis, initially taking him under his wing and giving him the TMT seal of approval. However, the Baltimore native undeniably carved out his own path to boxing superstardom, utilizing his underrated boxing IQ and devastating knockout power to earn his spot on the list of top 10 best-selling pay-per-views in history, in an era where illegal streaming is the default for many.

Gervonta Davis faces off against Frank Martin

While many may credit the $102.04 million earned solely to the first-of-its-kind Boxing Influencer Ryan "KingRy" Garcia, who undoubtedly played a role in selling the mega fight to his millions of followers across social media, Davis’s previous PPV successes and knockout power, combined with Garcia’s popularity among casuals and his God-given speed, brought together a perfect blend of excitement for fans from every demographic.

Now coming back from house arrest since that monumental stoppage victory against Garcia in April 2023, Davis warns Frank "The Ghost" Martin that he will be the recipient of all his pent-up anger come fight night.

With a 93.1% knockout ratio in 29 fights, the odds seem to favor the 29-year-old, who looks to retain his WBA World Lightweight title in knockout fashion to properly celebrate MGM Grand’s 100th championship event.

In the first episode of his "Gloves Off" PBC special, Davis referenced the sparring session he had with Martin when he was younger, claiming that while Martin landed his signature brick hand, he was hurt by Davis and turned to holding and hugging for the remainder of the sparring rounds. In the same episode, renowned boxing journalist Sean Zittel, who witnessed the sparring, interviewed Frank Martin for FightHype, saying the sparring session alone made him feel like he owed $100.

This Saturday, June 15, everyone can watch a more dangerous, yet more polished version of both undefeated fighters try to take each other's heads off on Prime Video PPV for less.

Co-Main Event: Benavidez vs. Gvozdyk

David Benavidez made it clear he wasn't going to wait on Canelo forever. When the opportunity arose for an interim WBC championship eliminator to become the mandatory challenger for the winner of the undisputed match between Dmitrii Bivol and Artur Beterbiev, he seized it. The challenger? None other than former long-reigning WBC Light-Heavyweight champion Oleksandr "The Nail" Gvozdyk.

Gvozdyk, who took a two-year hiatus after losing his unification bout against Beterbiev in 2019, has made a strong comeback with three consecutive wins since February 2023, the last two by knockout. A former Olympic medalist from Ukraine, Gvozdyk boasts an impressive amateur career that reflects in his style without compromising his heavy punching power.

With the Mexican Monster's outstanding punch output and fast combinations, this is a showdown between a hungry, undefeated newcomer to the division and a battle-hardened veteran looking to taste championship glory one more time.

Gary Antuanne Russell: Chasing His First Title

Undefeated super lightweight southpaw Gary Antuanne Russell is looking to win his first title against undefeated former WBA junior welterweight titleholder Alberto Puello for the interim WBC junior welterweight title. None of Russell's fights have gone the distance, with his latest victory coming by way of first-round KO last August. "La Avispa" has never been down on the canvas; however, he tested positive for the banned substance Clomiphene, which led to the loss of his title.

Carlos Adames: Defending His WBC Middleweight Title

Carlos Adames will make his first WBC middleweight title defense against 2012 U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha. Adames, whose only loss came to former world champion Patrick Teixeira, was elevated to full champion following Jermall Charlo's inactivity.
