Los Angeles– Vicente Fernandez’s “Mexico Lindo Y Querido” echoed through the Microsoft Theater as Saul “Canelo” Alvarez entered the stage to immediately face off with the IBF World Middleweight Champion Daniel “Miracle Man” Jacobs for what would be the last time until their Cinco De Mayo fight week in Las Vegas.
After touring in Jacob’s home state of New York followed by Mexico City, the Canelo vs. Jacobs press conference tour concluded in DTLA in where instead of engaging in trash talk, the middleweight champions praised each other’s accomplishments while also identifying the flaws they feel they can capitalize on when fight night comes on May 4.
As cool, calm and collected as always, Alvarez (51-1-2, 35 KOs) assured fans though he’s often the favorite, he wants them to go into his fights with the mentality that though he might lose or draw, his objective is always to deliver stupendous fights.
Jacobs (35-2, 29 KOs) appeared immensely confident as he told the crowd he truly believes he could be the first to send the unified middleweight champion to the canvas. After being asked what his prediction is after his bout against Alvarez, Jacobs answered his hand would be raised at the end of the night whether his victory comes by decision or knockout.
